G.S.R.--(E). -In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 4 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby makes the following amendments in notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, No. 17/2002-CUSTOMS (N.T.), dated the 7^th March, 2002, published vide number G.S.R. 173(E), dated the 7^th March, 2002, namely:-
 
 In the said notification,-

(i)                         for the words “Commissioner of Customs”, the words “Principal Commissioner of Customs or Commissioner of Customs” shall be substituted;
(ii)                      in the Table, for the entries in column (2), the following entries shall be substituted, namely:-
“Principal Additional Director General or Additional Director General, Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence posted at Headquarters and Zonal/ regional units”.
 
2.         This notification shall come into force with effect from 15^th October, 2014.
